Frequently Asked Questions

What is this ASN directory?
It's a searchable index of every registered Autonomous System Number worldwide, across all five regional internet registries (AFRINIC, APNIC, ARIN, LACNIC, and RIPE NCC). Search by ASN, name, or organization handle to find a network, then open its full report in the ASN Lookup tool.
How often is this list updated?
The full list is fetched from our RIPE database mirror and cached, then refreshed automatically once that cache goes stale, rather than re-fetched on every visit. It reflects the source records as of the last refresh, not necessarily this exact second.
Why do some ASNs show missing fields?
Coverage and detail vary by registry: RIPE and LACNIC generally publish an organization handle and description for each ASN, while a large share of ARIN and APNIC records omit those fields (and often the registration date too) in what they publish. Missing fields show as "Unknown" or "-" rather than being hidden.
How do I see full details for one ASN?
Click any ASN in the table, or use the ASN Lookup tool directly, for its organization details, RIR allocation history, and every route it announces.
What does the "Grouped" view do?
It clusters every ASN by description, organization handle, status, or registration year, so you can see which organizations hold the most ASNs, or how registrations have trended by year, instead of scrolling a flat list. Click any group to see its member ASNs, or click an entry in the "Top Organizations" leaderboard to open that organization's own page listing every ASN it holds.
